The Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes WARF's policies and procedures for the collection of personal information by this site, and our use and dissemination of such information.

What personally identifiable information does WARF collect and what does WARF do with it?
WARF explicitly asks if it needs information that identifies you individually. In general, you can visit our site without disclosing any personal information. If, however, you wish to subscribe to any of our notification services, we ask you to provide your email address. This is the only personally identifiable information about you that we collect.

If you provide your email address to WARF, we will use it to notify you about new technologies and/or political events in your area of interest. We may also use your email address to respond to incoming service requests from you. If you send us correspondence, such as emails or letters, or if other users or third parties send us correspondence about your use of the WARF site, we may collect such information in a file specific to you. We may use this information to respond to your inquiry, modify our services, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems and/or enforce our user agreement.

Does WARF share your personal information with other companies?
WARF shares your personal information with partners who assist in services associated with the WARF site. Without this relationship, WARF could not provide its service to you. However, under their agreements with us, these third-party partners may not retain, share, store, or use your personal information for any secondary purposes. Otherwise, WARF does not share your personal information with third parties except when it believes disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with a legal obligation, to protect WARF and its users or in an emergency where someone's safety is at risk.

Can I change or delete personally identifiable information on the site?
Yes. Each email alert you receive from WARF as part of our notification services contains a link to a profile page where you may either change your profile information or unsubscribe from our list. If you change your profile information, your previous profile information will be purged, and only your current profile information will be stored. If you unsubscribe from our notification services, both your profile information and email address will be purged. There will be no record of your previous membership, and we will not keep any personally identifiable records concerning you unless required to do so by law.

Changes to this Privacy Policy
If WARF wishes to change this policy, it will publish changes on this website at least 30 days before those changes will take effect. WARF will also notify users who are current subscribers to WARF's notification services of changes to this policy via email. Your continued use of WARF's notification services after receiving notification of a change will be deemed your manifest assent to the new terms. If you do not agree with WARF's privacy policy, you have the option of requesting that we delete your personally identifiable information from our databases.
